Frequently Asked Questions

Most clients experience pigment that lasts 12 to 24 months, depending on skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, and skincare. We recommend a color refresh after 12–18 months to maintain vibrancy, shape, and overall balance for optimal results.

Most clients report mild discomfort rather than sharp pain. We use topical anesthetic and gentle techniques to minimize sensitivity. Expect tingling, slight swelling, and temporary tenderness for a few days while healing.

Avoid retinol, exfoliating treatments, and heavy sun exposure for two weeks prior. No blood-thinning medications or alcohol 48 hours before appointment. Arrive with clean, makeup-free lips and discuss medical history and desired color during your consultation.

Initial swelling and darker pigment occur first 2–5 days. Scabbing and flaking follow, then color softens during weeks two to four. Full settling and true color appear around 4–6 weeks, when any touch-up is scheduled.

Common temporary effects include swelling, redness, tenderness, and light scabbing. Rare complications may include infection or allergic reaction—avoided by proper aftercare and choosing a licensed technician who uses sterile, high-quality pigments and single-use needles.

Avoid applying lipstick or lip products until healing is complete, usually 10–14 days. After the initial healing and any recommended touch-up, you can use cosmetics over the pigment, but choose gentle, non-irritating formulas to protect results.
