Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Lash Tint.

Most tints last about four to six weeks, fading as your lashes naturally shed. Longevity varies with hair growth, oil-based products, and aftercare. Regular touch-ups every 4–6 weeks keep lashes consistently defined and dark.

Tinting is generally safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers when performed by professionals. We recommend a patch test and removing lenses during the service. Tell your technician about allergies or recent eye treatments so we can choose the safest formula.

You can wear mascara after tinting, but we advise waiting 24 hours to allow dye to set. Because tints darken lashes, many clients skip mascara entirely. Avoid oil-based removers or cleansers that can break down the tint and shorten its lifespan.

Arrive with clean, makeup-free eyes and avoid oil-based products beforehand. If you wear contacts, bring a case to remove them. Mention recent lash procedures or allergies; we’ll perform a patch test if it’s your first tint.

Proper professional tinting does not damage lashes when performed correctly. The dye coats hairs without weakening them, but excessive or frequent chemical treatments can cause stress. Space appointments four to six weeks apart and avoid harsh removers to maintain lash health.

A Lash Tint appointment at VS Aesthetics typically takes 20–30 minutes, including consultation and application. Allow extra time for a patch test or combined services like brow shaping, which may extend your visit up to 45 minutes.
